Trail No. 586 is a horizontal path that connects Volastra to Trail No. 587. It runs roughly parallel to the SVA / 592 coastal trail between Manarola and Corniglia, but 300 meters higher. Since the SVA / 592 Trail has been closed for ten years, the main route between Manarola and Corniglia is via Trails 506-586-587. Trail No. 586 starts in Volastra on Via NS della Salute, behind the village church. The Church of Madonna della Salute, dating back to the 10th century, is one of the 5 Marian shrines of the Cinque Terre.
